CAS welcomes AHO as newest partner

CAS is delighted to announce our newest partner: The Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO), a leading institution specializing in architecture, design, landscape architecture, and urbanism.

We are glad to further expand our academic network within the creative disciplines, bringing in a partner with extensive research credentials and a commitment to challenging established knowledge through critical thinking and innovative approaches.

As a CAS partner, faculty members at AHO who hold permanent positions will now be eligible to apply for our CAS Research Grant. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to serve as PIs, assembling and leading research groups for one academic year at CAS. Additionally, early career scholars under the age of 40 may apply for the Young CAS Grant, our fellowship program created to support emerging researchers in career development and network expansion.

"We are very pleased to see investment in basic research from institutions with a focus on creative disciplines, such as AHO" shared Camilla Serck-Hanssen, director at CAS. "AHO's research portfolio, which spans from basic research to more applied innovation, aligns well with our mission to further excellent, curiosity-driven, research."

Becoming a CAS partner offers mutual benefits and development opportunities. Through the agreement, AHO grants researchers sabbatical leave to participate in projects at CAS, both as project leaders and fellows. In turn, we frequently see CAS projects successfully develop into larger research centres or ERC projects, providing added value to their home institution. Our partner institutions also earn publication points for research originating from their project at CAS.

We look forward to receiving applications from researchers at AHO.

How to become a partner

CAS accepts applications from Norwegian institutions and elects up to two new partners per year. Applications are reviewed annually at the board meeting in February.

While there is no direct cost associated with the partnership, partner institutions contribute to the collaboration by providing scholars from their institutions with fully paid sabbatical leave during their stay at CAS.
