The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters new partner of the Young CAS Fellow programme

CAS is pleased to announce that the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters (DNVA) will contribute with financial and academic support to the Young CAS Fellow programme.

Young CAS Fellow was created in partnership with the Young Academy of Norway (AYF), and runs for the first time in 2019/20. The programme reaches out to researchers who are at an early stage of their carriers and is designed to help them develop their projects and foster collaborative networks.

If chosen as a Young CAS Fellow you get to gather your dream team for three intensive gatherings through one academic year.

DNVA will now become a partner of the Young CAS Fellow programme. The Academy will contribute financially as well as academically drawing on their extensive network.

CAS is excited about this new collaboration, and believes that this collaboration will strengthen the Young CAS Fellow programme.

Application deadline October 15

Young CAS Fellows 2019/2020 are Hilde Nesse Tyssøy from the Birkeland Centre for Space Research, and Are Skeie Hermansen from the Department of Sociology and Human Geography at the University of Oslo.

Tyssøy’s project is on energetic electron precipitation in our atmosphere. Her aim is to achieve a holistic view on the causes of energetic electron precipitation and its dependence on solar wind structures and magnetospheric processes.

Hilde Nesse Tyssøy is named Young CAS Fellow, and presented her project "Unraveling the drivers of Energetic Electron Precipitation" at CAS Monday 18 March 2019.

Hermansen’s project is on within-job pay inequalities between immigrant-origin and native workers. He aims to bring together an international team of early-career social scientists in a collaborative effort to conduct the first ever cross-national comparative study of these inequalities.

Are Skeie Hermansen leads the Young CAS Fellow project “Cross-national comparisons of within-job pay inequalities between immigrants and natives”. Here during his presentation at CAS March 18, 2019.
