CAS researchers advance in ERC selection process.

We recently received exciting news regarding two researchers affiliated with CAS who have progressed in the ERC (European Research Council) selection process.

Jessica Dimka, a fellow working on the Social Science Meets Biology: Indigenous People and Severe Influenza Outcomes project, has been invited to an interview for an ERC Consolidator Grant. Her proposed project, EpiDynamics, focuses on studying the interactions and feedback between seasonal infectious diseases and chronic health conditions, aiming to gain insights into health, demographics, and evolutionary changes in human populations over time.

Additionally, we are thrilled to announce that Helen Leslie Jacobsen, our former Young CAS PI who led the project Ballads Across Borders: The Faroe Islands in the Norse Story-Telling World (BARD), has advanced to the second round of the ERC Consolidator Grant. Her project centres around Faroese ballads, delving into their cultural significance and exploring their broader implications.

We congratulate Jessica and Helen on their remarkable achievements thus far and wish them the best of luck in the upcoming stages of the ERC selection process!
