CAS fellows make JCP 'Editors' Choice' List

Trygve Ulf Helgaker and Andrew M. Teale, two fellows participating in the CAS project 'Molecoles in Extreme Environments,' are honoured by 'The Journal of Chemical Physics.'

The Journal of Chemical Physics has named an article by CAS fellows Trygve Ulf Helgaker and Andrew M. Teale to its 2017 'Editors' Choice' list, placing it among the 'most innovative and influential articles in the field of chemical physics.'

The article, 'Connections between variation principles at the interface of wave-function and density-functional theories,' was published in the 7 October edition of the journal, a publication of the American Institute of Physics.

Helgaker, professor of theoretical chemistry at the University of Oslo (UiO), and Teale, assistant professor of theoretical chemistry at the University of Nottingham, are this year participating in the CAS project Molecules in Extreme Environments. Helgaker is leading the project.

The Journal of Chemical Physics published 2,052 articles in 2017. Only 73 articles were named to the 'Editors' Choice' list, which highlights 'significant and definitive research in experimental and theoretical areas of the field' of chemical physics.

Helgaker and Teale's article is free to read online through 2018.
