The CAS research group Several Complex Variables and Complex Dynamics has invited Antonio Alarcon, from Granada University, to hold the seminar 'Complete properly embedded complex curves of arbitrary topology in the ball of C^2' Thursday 8 December at CAS.

Abstract

We will discuss how to construct complete properly embedded complex curves in the unit ball of C^2 having any given topological type.  We will further show examples containing any given closed discrete subset of the ball.
