During the excursion to the Isle of Man, the CAS group Reading and interpreting runic inscriptions: the theory and method of runology began to participate in cultural activities together. After enjoying classical ballet on the Isle of Man, they attended classical and modern music concerts at the Concert Hall and in the University Aula in Oslo, as well as a modern dance performance at the Opera House in Oslo. These activities, which as a rule were preceded or followed by a group dinner, helped to bind the team together; they rejuvenated the participants and rewarded them with cultural relaxation and a good meal for so much over‐time work at CAS.
